WHY WORK WITH US?

In line with SOLAS conventions Chapter 5, Regulation 9, the principal objective of NNHO is to provide accurate and up-to date hydrographic services to national and international agencies as well as public and private maritime stakeholders. This is in order to support the NN and other maritime security agencies in their efforts to maintain adequate security within Nigeria’s waters, as well as, promote improved maritime activities for better revenue generation for the Nigerian Government.

Accordingly, our products and services are tailored towards improving the safety and security at sea to enable conducive maritime environment for national economic development. Consequently, our products cut across many spheres of maritime operations such as defence, marine research, marine transportation, fisheries, environmental protection and delimitation of maritime boundaries among others.

In order to guarantee effective service delivery, we ensure that our products and services conform to the global best practices through collaboration with international bodies such as the IHO and IMO, as well as other international Hydrographic Offices like the UKHO and NOAA among others. We also partner with other maritime stakeholders in Nigeria such as the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and National Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR), as well as local and international private survey companies operating within Nigeria’s maritime environment among others. Furthermore, we collaborate with commanding officers of Naval vessels, as well as captains and masters of merchant vessels on matters relating to uncharted dangers within Nigeria’s waters. We also interface with both local and international oil companies by providing maritime information that assists them in construction and maintenance of their infrastructure within our waters.

To this end, we would like to invite all maritime operators within Nigeria’s waters to work with us through exchange of maritime information that constitutes dangers to navigation in our waters and constructive feedbacks on our products so as to enable us improve and to serve you better.
